About The Institute for Managerial Analytics (TIMA)
Finding. Applying. Learning. Solving. Succeeding.
TIMA - where data analytics and decision-making meet.
Equipping those in business for the practical application of managerial analytics is what TIMA is all about. TIMA was born out the necessity to provide business owners, executives, and managers from all industries with the knowledge and skills necessary to leverage their data to make the best decisions possible. It’s also about helping executives and managers speak the language of data analytics and applying what they learn to make successful decisions - without the need for programming skills.
Our focus is on managing data and applying it in practical ways that solve problems – not learning how to program in R, Python or SAS – there are plenty of excellent programs available elsewhere for those critical skills. And we leave that work to data analysts, business intelligence practitioners, and data scientists. Instead, we are fully engaged in equipping managers with the ability to manage data and working with those who would be providing them with the data analytics output they need.
Many business schools have only recently recognized the value of providing managers the knowledge and skills to be successful in today’s data-centric world. We cannot escape the importance of harnessing the data we have to provide critical insights as managers. The relatively recent rise of the “business intelligence” function is just a glimpse of how the business landscape is changing.
Managerial Analytics Research
We partner and collaborate with a wide variety of academic and business professionals who share their research, insights, and experiences with TIMA. TIMA provides professionals from all careers and industries with access to the latest data analytics management knowledge – available as white papers, books, ebooks, videos, and podcasts.
Executive Education
Every organization – for-profit or non-profit – has at its disposal more information about their business than ever. While data has long been a part of our world, what has changed is the combination of data volume, speed, and velocity. TIMA was created to provide managers with the knowledge, skills, and tools to manage the information they have and to utilize to solve business/organizational challenges.
We want to equip you with what you need to make the most from your data, solve problems, and be successful. Period.
